Everything customers ask before booking — pricing, what's included, weather, kids, dogs, how it actually goes on the water. If your question isn't here, text Croix directly.
Booking & Pricing
How much does a Naples fishing charter cost?+
Half-day fishing charters start at $750, full-day at $1,500. Captain-for-hire (you bring the boat) is $350+. Island adventures and private sunset cruises start at $600. Multi-day Epic Excursions are custom-quoted based on route, group size, and days.
How do I book?+
Pick an adventure on the website and pay the deposit via Stripe — the date is locked in immediately. Or text Captain Croix directly at (239) 898-3377 to talk it through first. Either works.
What's the deposit / cancellation policy?+
A 25% deposit holds your date. Cancel 7+ days in advance for a full refund. Weather cancellations are at the captain's call the morning of — full refund or reschedule, no questions asked.
Do you take groups?+
The 22' bay boat is set up for 2–4 anglers comfortably; the 16' skiff is ideal for 1–2 on the flats. Larger groups (5+) can be accommodated as multi-boat buddy trips — we coordinate two captains and two boats.
On the Water
What kind of fish will we target?+
Depends on season and conditions. Inshore: snook, redfish, tarpon, permit, sea trout. Offshore: grouper, snapper, mackerel, kingfish, mahi-mahi. We dial in the target species based on what's biting and what you want to catch.
What if the weather is bad?+
Reschedule for weather — no questions asked. Captain Croix makes the call the morning of based on conditions. Safety first. You'll get a full refund or a new date, your choice.
Do I need a fishing license?+
No — your Florida saltwater fishing license is covered under the captain's USCG permit while you're on the boat.
What should I bring?+
Sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, a jacket if cool, food and any drinks (BYOB — we have the cooler with ice). We have everything else: rods, reels, tackle, bait, water, dry storage.
Will I get sick on the boat?+
Inshore and bay water is calm — most people are fine. Offshore trips have more swell — if you're prone to seasickness, take Dramamine 30 min before departure. We carry it on board if you forget.
The Adventures
What's the difference between a fishing charter and captain-for-hire?+
Fishing charter: we provide the 22' bay boat, all gear, all the fishing. Captain-for-hire: YOU bring the boat, Captain Croix runs it. Owner-operators who want a day off or first-time boat owners who want a licensed captain at the helm — that's who books captain-for-hire.
What's a 'private' sunset cruise vs. a group cruise?+
The big group sunset cruises (Pure Florida, Naples Princess) put 40+ strangers on one boat with a scheduled route. A private cruise with Steezy is your boat — just your group, custom route, your pace. Naples Bay, Gordon Pass, Keewaydin sandbar — your call.
What are Epic Excursions?+
Multi-day, custom-quoted, liveaboard adventures. Overnight camping on a remote island. Buddy-boat trips with two captains. Mothership Everglades runs. Florida Keys or Bahamas missions. The kind of trip that becomes a story you tell forever. Custom-quoted based on scope.
Do you do trips to the Everglades or 10,000 Islands?+
Yes — multi-day Everglades and 10,000 Islands liveaboard trips are a signature offering. Mothership coordination, gear, full trip planning. Most Naples operators do day trips; we do the whole expedition.
Logistics
Where do we meet?+
Most trips launch from Naples Bay or Marco Island. The specific dock depends on the day's route — Captain Croix texts you the address 24 hours before the trip.
Is the boat ADA accessible?+
The 22' bay boat has a wide deck and is suitable for guests with limited mobility. Boarding requires a small step up from the dock. Reach out before booking if you have specific accessibility needs.
Are kids allowed?+
Absolutely — family trips are some of our favorite days. Captain Croix has rigs sized down for younger anglers. Life jackets in every size on board.
Are dogs allowed?+
Yes — bring the boat dog. Just give us a heads up so we can pack water and a towel.
